Getting started with developmental services

Infant Development

Is your infant developmentally delayed (ages 0-3 years)?

Parents receive diagnoses from many different sources. You may have just heard from your pediatrician that they suspect that there are areas of your baby’s development that are delayed.

Did you know that if your child meets the criteria to become a client of the California Department of Developmental Services (DDS), he or she could receive services to help his or her development? Check out the official web site for DDS to see if you qualify for Early Start Services.

If you want to pursue services through DDS, you can approach your local DDS office (also known as a Regional Center). To find your local Regional Center, click here.

Your local Regional Center will do an intake to determine eligibility. Once the individual needing services is made a client of the Regional Center, he or she will be given a Service Coordinator who will help explain how the Regional Center can support your family as you work to help the individual in need.

If it is determined that your child needs an Infant Development Program (often times called Infant Stimulation), we can help. Our in-home Infant Program is thorough, caring and comprehensive. Directed by Carrie Armstrong, MA, our Infant Program works closely with parents and other professionals to ensure that your child is reaching his or her potential developmental growth.
